Exam FM Bootcamp
Overview: This highly intensive, 3-part live online instruction course will meet on the three Saturdays leading up to the exam with one of our two professors: Professor Joe Sadow, MS and Professor Nii Okine, PhD. During the live sessions the exam material will be reviewed, with special focus on harder topics, common errors, and exam strategy. The Professor will guide the class through key examples and answer any particular questions you’d like to discuss. The live bootcamp sessions are recorded and hosted privately for viewing in case you miss a session or want to review a past session. Beyond that, the professor will assign select review exercises to guide your study (through Academic Goal) and be available for Q&A email correspondence.

About your Professors
Joe Sadow holds a masters degree in computational and applied mathematics from Arizona State University, having focused research on numerical approaches to solve inverse problems. After teaching at local community colleges for a year or so, Joe was fortunate enough to start a career in 2019 as an actuarial analyst working on various aspects of California's Medicaid program. Love of teaching and interacting with students has compelled Joe to continue to moonlight teaching college math courses since starting graduate school in 2015. Fortune struck again when Joe partnered with ACTEX in 2021 to help create actuarial exam study materials. During time off, Joe enjoys learning chess, French, and testing out ideas for math videos on his wife, Allison and corgi-chihuahua mix, Clive.
Nii Okine is an assistant professor at the Mathematical Sciences Department at Appalachian State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business (Actuarial Science) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and obtained his master’s degree in Actuarial Science from Illinois State University. His research interest includes micro-level reserving, ratemaking, dependence modeling, micro-insurance, and machine learning. He obtained his associate of the Society of Actuaries credential in December 2021.
